Two Broad Bean Recipes

(One uses beef, the other is veggie)…

Nearly at the end of my broad bean extravaganza (but I do like them SO much!).

Thought it would be nice to quickly share a few tasty broad bean recipes and ideas with everybody. I hope you enjoyed the video above.

  • Broad Bean RecipesAs well as being boiled some cultures fry, then salt, broad beans to eat as a crunchy savoury snack. These countries are Thailand, Mexico, Peru, China and Columbia.
  • In Italy they mix the beans with chicory and puree.
  • In a lot of Arab countries the broad bean is used in a breakfast dish called ful medames. It is actually the Egyptian national dish. Mashed broad beans are cooked in oil with garlic, cumin, lemon and seasoned with salt. This mixture is then eaten with bread.

I’ve just made a great dish using frozen broad beans and rice with lots of coriander – delicious! Soon, I’ll have fresh broad beans out of the garden which will be even better.
